Cellular respiration
Mitochondria are often called the powerhouse of the cell. They produce ATP through a process called cellular respiration. Glucose is broken down in the cytoplasm through glycolysis, yielding two pyruvate molecules. These enter the mitochondria and are converted to acetyl-CoA, which feeds into the citric acid cycle. Electron carriers NADH and FADH₂ then donate electrons to the electron transport chain, driving ATP synthesis.

"I've been looking for an app like this for WGU for quite a few months now, and so far I haven't found anyone that gets it quite right. It's a lot of copy-and-pasting, heavily computerized voices, or quick trials that only get me a few pages in. This extension is simple to use and the voices aren't grating on my ears. It's clean listening - I love this!"
